Today, at Fellowship Village, volunteers helped seniors with many different issues. A volunteer helped one customer set up her new kindle and connect to WiFi, and made sure she was able to read the books she wanted to and let her explore the device a bit. Another man wanted to check out ebooks from his library, so the volunteer showed him how to use Libby. Another senior needed to create an SSN account which the volunteer helped to set up, and then gave him instructions on how to use zoom meetings and play around with the app.
Another volunteer helped out with teaching seniors how to send, forward and attach images to emails. The volunteer also helped out with things involving social security.
Other than just helping the seniors with technology, volunteers connected with the seniors in their local community and found out what it truly means to be part of one. The seniors also gained a sense of community from this session, and connected with our volunteers.
