Today at Ridge Oak, seniors had several questions, including how to get rid of malware, which the volunteer instructed to delete suspicious apps and disable notifications. There were also other questions regarding how to log into touchtown, the community app, and how to find and sign in to that account. Some seniors also had issues with a glitchy ipad, deleting emails, and questions about whether you need to log in to access certain websites.
At today’s tech session, both seniors and volunteers felt more connected to each other, and understood what it meant to be a community. Other than just helping with technology, volunteers also bonded with seniors over common interests and introduced the AYLUS organization to them. After the technology helped, many of the seniors left with smiles and thanks towards the volunteers.
