AYLUS Great Neck Branch holds AAPI Event at the Main Library 35th (11/8/25)

On Saturday, November 8th from 3:45 PM to 5:30 PM, the AYLUS Great Neck Volunteers held their AAPI event at the Great Neck Main Library. For example origami, clay modeling, reading, crochet, and making animal plates. First Rebecca read “Love Makes a Garden Grow”, John read “Hello”, and Nathan read “The Proudest Blue”. After reading the children were able to participate in the crafts and activities provided for this event. Jolynn taught kids how to make giraffes out of clay and Andrew and Jayden taught kids origami. Ryder taught kids how to make ladybug plates and with older kids Rainie taught them crochet.

Activities like these help kids learn new activities and experience, develop listening skills, whether listening to stories or instructions in activities, or learning to be more social. These skills are crucial for more advanced vocabulary, more active listening, and a stronger memory.
