West Essex AYLUS Supports Special Olympics skating competition 2/11/24

On 2/11/24 West Essex members volunteered with NJ Special Olympics for 2024 Figure Skating Competition at Codey’s arena in west orange NJ.  West Essex members served as partners on ice, score runner, blade guards runner, etc.

Special Olympics’ mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Special Olympics New Jersey will foster inclusive communities for people with and without intellectual disabilities through innovative sporthealthwellness and leadership opportunities for Special Olympics athletes, their families and society as a whole.
