Rancho Cucamonga Branch at Vex IQ Challenge Tournament (10/28/2023)

On October 28, 2023, five members from the AYLUS RC Branch dedicated their time to volunteer at the VEX IQ Challenge Tournament regional qualifiers. This event, a significant international competition, requires participants to go through rigorous selection processes to advance to the final championship held in Texas.

Our role in this event was to manage the check-in process, which proved to be quite a task due to the large number of participating children across various age groups. With numerous groups and eager participants, we found ourselves bustling to assist each child, helping them form teams and guiding them to the correct rooms for their competitions. The day was a whirlwind of activity, leaving us little time even for breaks, but our enthusiasm for the event kept us going strong.

Despite our own interest in the robotics aspect of the competition, we remained committed to our volunteer duties. As the day progressed, we witnessed the children showcase their talents and dedication, and their cheers of victory filled us with immense joy. It was truly heartwarming to see their hard work pay off.

Overall, the volunteer experience was both unique and rewarding. We learned a lot, not only about robotics but also about teamwork, dedication, and the power of perseverance.

The volunteers who participated in this memorable event were Yongxi Hu  8 hours; Morgan Li  8 hours;  Yixuan Yuan  3 hours; Qinran Zhang   8 hours; Peirong Yu  8 hours. We look forward to future opportunities to contribute to such impactful initiatives and make a difference in our community.
