AYLUS Roslyn Brings Joy to Intellectually Disabled Adults at Bayville (3rd) on April 14, 2024

On April 14, 2024, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Aylus Roslyn volunteers went to Bayville and assisted people with cerebral palsy.

When we arrived, the residents of Bayville were already bowling. So we jumped in to assist them by reorganizing the fallen pins and helped them roll the ball into the pins. The residents really enjoyed bowling and they were hitting strike after strike!

After bowling, we played bingo together and it was a close game! We helped the residents place each circle onto the number after it was called out. Every time there was a Bingo coming out, they were very excited and we were affected by their happiness too!

Following bingo, we played with bean bags. The goal of the game was to throw the bean bags onto the circle for points. We helped the residents by guiding them and we moved the circle so they could have a better vision.

Our final activity of the day was to move each resident to the lunch room so they could eat a wonderful meal.

Overall, the residents enjoyed the different entertainments that the staff designed for them and we all enjoyed staying at Bayville to help out. It was a joyful experience and needed a lot of patience, cooperation and love. The residents welcomed us to join them and even asked where the other volunteers were. That made us feel so proud and important to them. We were very glad to work with the professionals there and hope to come more often.
