The AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers at Bayard Cutting Arboretum to help plant crops

The AYLUS Dix Hills volunteers at Bayard Cutting Arboretum to help plant crops and pull out weeds. Volunteers used iron shovels to dig out holes and planted members of the allium family. The allium family includes onions, shallots, leeks and garlic, and volunteers planted 11 beds full of them. Following that, volunteers moved to pull out mugwort and other unneeded plants. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help assist staff in preparing crops to place down and plant.

Volunteers: Bryan Fan (3 hrs) and Jonathan Fan (2.5 hrs).
