AYLUS Roslyn Brings Joy to Intellectually Disabled Adults at Bayville (2nd) on April 7, 2024

AYLUS Roslyn Volunteers at Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s Bayville Location (11th) on 4/07/24

On April 7th, 2024, the AYLUS roslyn branch visited CP Nassau’s Bayville location to cheer up the residents. The Bayville location is an intermediate care facility, which means that there are more residents living there than a house. Today, there were around 50 residents joining us for an afternoon of fun and excitement. First, we played Jenga with large blocks. Even residents who couldn’t pick up blocks had fun knocking over the whole tower. After that we played an ocean themed game of bingo, and everyone had the chance to shout “Bingo!” at the end. Finally, the residents played 3 rounds of Uno. Each round had a different winner, and in the last round, two residents switched cards
for a last-minute surprise victory!
Although the Bayville location is not one that we were used to, everybody including residents and volunteers had a lot of fun playing games and spending time with each other. Outside it was sunny and bright, and it most certainly was inside as well!
