From September 10th, 2023 to December 10th, 2023, Orange members Monica and Ethan went to Southern Connecticut Chinese School to teach an art class. The purpose of the class was to give those who didn’t have a class during that time period a place to be and something interesting to do. The class was open to both children and parents, and students from ages 5 to adult joined us in drawing all different creatures and plants.
Every week during the class time, Monica and Ethan did not pick classes at SCCS, but rather devoted their time to a teaching a class. They made sure all students understood what they were saying, and even spoke in both English and Chinese so that those who were not as fluent in a second language could still understand the steps clearly.
