On September 28th, 2023, members of the AYLU-Columbus branch held their first in-person weekly tutoring session for the 2023/2024 school year at the Abbey Church Village in Dublin, Ohio. This community is part of the national church residences and serves low income families, including new immigrant families.
Three AYLUS Columbus members, Ayden He, Brenna Li, and Estella Li helped 6 elementary or middle school students with their math and English homework. Among the 6 students, 3 were returning students from last school year’s tutoring sessions. Parents of three students being tutored were at the end of the session and expressed appreciation to the volunteers. Such a rewarding program!
Brenna LI’s mother, Dakun Wang, was the adult supervisors of the session.
