West Essex AYLUS Members Help Special Needs Children Ski during Holiday Break 12/29/22

On Dec. 29th 2022, AYLUS members helped special needs children ski from 9am to 4pm at Jack Frost ski resort in PA.  Jack Frost is a beginner friendly ski resort.  The special needs children have previously taken adaptive ski lessons and learned basic ski skills.  However, they need volunteers to pair with them on the path.  While skiing, one of our volunteers would go down first to guide the children stay in the right path and control the speed.  Another volunteer would ski behind the children to make sure they follow the leading volunteer and also help the children immediately if they fall.  Our volunteers also helped the children stay in the line while waiting for the lift and safely getting on and off from the lift.

West Essex members: Jasmine Chen and Sophia Zheng (7 hours each)
