Volunteers at the Raritan Valley Branch started the year off strong as they continued to work hard on the Overseas Spoken English Tutoring project. Searching for interesting conversation materials, deciding helpful vocabulary lists, preparing Google Slides for lesson demonstration…our dedicated volunteers have gone above and beyond refining their teaching techniques to suit students’ various interests and learning styles. While helping the students to become better at speaking English, our volunteers have stepped out of the comfort zone and become increasingly confident in leading lessons for students from different age groups and knowledge levels. Although the year has just begun, we are excited about what we have achieved so far. We will be sure to keep up our performance as the year goes on and look forward to what the rest of 2021 has to offer.
