On August 1, 2023, the Dallas area remained under heatwave alerts. After sorting books for the Libraries With Love African Libraries project, many books left could be sold on Amazon or donated to adult libraries in the future. One of our members recently built a storage shed and it would be used as our central location for these books. We gathered together at the first member’s house. The books were packed into two cars and then driven to the house. A majority of the volunteers had left at this point but two remained to carry out the ordeal. Plenty of books had to be resealed due to poor initial sealing and a potential rat problem at the storage shed. Some boxes were broken when we were moving and we had to repair the boxes and carry them into the storage shed one by one. Congratulations to all the volunteers who sorted all of those heavy books while working in the scorching heat.
