On May 31, 2025, AYLUS Space Coast organized a beach cleanup on Pineda Beach.
Our members collected four full bags of trash. The bags included large pieces of styrofoam, broken plastic pieces, and countless bottle caps. These pieces of garbage would have significantly impacted the beach through pollution, harming the surrounding wildlife.
Consistent beach cleanups ensure that the shores are kept safe for marine life and tourists. Garbage in the ocean may lead to hazards for the wildlife such as suffocation or entanglement. Once trash enters the water, it is much more difficult to protect the marine wildlife.
