AYLUS Roslyn Helps Out at a School of CCA of Long Island (29th) on October 29th, 2023

On October 15th of 2023, The Roslyn AYLUS branch partnered with The Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island, as scheduled from 1:30 to 5:00 PM.

As teachers assistants, our focus is to make sure the classroom is a productive and efficient learning environment. This means that we stop children from being distracted, make sure they pay attention to the teacher, or do any specific assignments our teacher assigns us to do. For example, we could be doing anything from grading homework to helping teach the class. In addition, as teacher’s assistants, we make sure to maintain a positive attitude to be good role models for our students. Another large component of out work is keeping the students safe by enforcing the school rules of no running in the hallways, no fooling around, and no touching any objects in the classroom. Finally, after the students leave, we help clean up the classroom by rearranging the desks and picking up any crumbs that the students may leave behind.

Our work is important because it helps the students to be more productive, learn more, and are safe. Also, we may act as role models for the students as we develop a deeper and more substantial connection with them through meaningful interactions.
