AYLUS Syosset Assist in the Transplantation of Native Plants at the Brentwood LINPI Greenhouse, 7/21/23

On 7/18/23, 7/20/23, and 7/21/23, the Syosset AYLUS members volunteered at the Brentwood LINPI (Long Island Native Plants Initiative) Greenhouse. Activities such as transplanting native plants, mixing soil with fertilizer to provide a steady soil base for the plants, and adding soil to plant trays were introduced. Labels were also made using stickers to properly format where each plant specie is located. Native plants provide preservation of biodiversity, and shelter for the wildlife species, proving the transplanting maintains a good purpose throughout the community. The plants are later placed in an orderly format outside.

Members that participated include: SuiWai Li (6 hours), Xihan Zhang (6 hours), Xiye Zhang (6 hours), Suiying Li (6 hours), Junxia Li (6 hours), Siulan Sung (4 hours), Jordan Li (2h).
