Columbus branch held in-person tutoring session at Abbey Church Village on March 16th, 2023

On March 16th, 2023, members of the AYLU-Columbus branch held another in-person tutoring session at Abbey Church Village in Dublin, Ohio, as part of the weekly tutoring program. This community is part of the national church residences and serves low income families, including new immigrant families.

Four AYLUS Columbus members, Evan Yu, Max Wang, Brenna Li, Aimee Zhang, Esther Wang, and Daniel Zheng helped 8 elementary or middle school students. The volunteers then help the students with their math and English homework. Brenna LI’s mother, Dakun, and Esther Wang’s mother, Yue, were the adult supervisors of the session. As a result of effective communication with the parents, the pupils all brought their homework or other worksheet to the session, allowing them to make the best use of the tutoring session.
