San Diego Branch organized 112th Computer for Kids Lab on June 19th, 2020

On June 19th, 2020, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 112th Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.

The participants did the following:

5 – Hard Drives Removed

18 – Desktop Computers

2 – Laptops

8 – Power Adaptors

18  – Motherboards

9 – CD Drives

9 – Heat Sync

8- RAM

So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab of this year:

  • Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 6,497 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
  • Cleaned out, or prepared 790 desktop computers for refurbishing
  • Tested/repaired/mounted 743 LCD monitors
  • Removed RAM from 884 computers
  • Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, removed and cloned 8,971 hard drives
  • Wrapped, folded, sorted, and packed 22,949 mice/keyboards/power cords/adapters/batteries/etc.
  • Tested and Bagged 156 Speakers
  • Removed 104 Optical Drives/CD Drives
  • Removed 270 Motherboards/Processors
