April 26, 2019, members of AYLUS were helping out at the local Scottish Corners Elementary School annual fund-raising event Springtacular. Misha coordinated with the PTO on operating a face painting booth for the event. Misha, Lili, June, Catherine, Erica, Julia Chen and Sydney Seeto operated the face painting booth for 3 hours and painted 167 children’s faces, raising almost $100 for Scottish Corners elementary school. The face painting booth became one of the most popular activities of Springtacular. The children were very excited when choosing their favorite design and color, and were fascinated seeing it transformed on their faces. AYLUS members Amy and Eileen also volunteered several hours for Springtacular on various positions, selling baked goods and giving prizes to children. Springtacular couldn’t have happened without the support of volunteers, and the members of AYLYS were very proud to be part of it.
