San Diego Branch Organized 35th Computer for Kids Lab on August 10th, 2018

On August 10th, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 35th Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.

In three hours, the participants did the following:

-40 Tablets Reset & Prepared for Distribution

-260 Adapters for Tablets Sorted & Cleaned

-27 Hard Drives Tested & Sanitized

-34 Monitors Tested & Cleaned – Prepared for Distribution

 

So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:

  • Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 3,109 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
  • Tested and repaired 108 LCD monitors
  • Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 2,897 hard drives
  • Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 6,262 mice, and power cords/adaptors
  • Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers

The following volunteers participated:  Anthony Jiang, Claire Jiang, Andric Li, Chengda Li, Chengming Li, Joshua Trost, Eric Xu, Jason Xu, Ricky Xu, and Lucy Yang.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 35th Computer for Kids Lab.
