San Diego Branch Organized 33rd Computer for Kids Lab on August 3rd, 2018

On August 3rd, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 33rd Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.

In four hours, the participants did the following:

  • 286 Putting Sleeves on Tablets
  • 256 Sorted & Cleaned Power Adapters for Tablets
  • 157 Sorted & Cleaned Power Adaptors for Netbooks
  • 105 Sorted & Cleaned Power Cords, VGA & DVI Cords
  • 235 Bagged Mice with Two Power Cords

 

So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab started:

  • Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 2,929 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
  • Tested and repaired 74 LCD monitors
  • Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 2,870 hard drives
  • Wrapped/folded, sorted, and packed 6,002 mice, and power cords/adaptors
  • Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers

The following volunteers participated: Leo Gu, Anthony Jiang, Claire Jiang, Andric Li, Chengda Li, Chengming Li, Andrew Peng, Joshua Trost, Richard Wu, Eric Xu, Jason Xu, Ricky Xu, Nathan Yang, Yaming Yang, and Yawen Yang.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 33rd Computer for Kids Lab.
