San Diego Students Held Fundraising Campaign for Children Impacted by Harvey Flood All Day on September 16, 2017 (Day 6)

From 9:00AM to 7:00PM on September 16, 2017, more than 40 students participated in a fundraising campaign for Houston children impacted by Hurricane Harvey and the flooding afterwards. The students were divided into 10 shifts and each shift had 4 students. The students talked to customers who shopped at the Carmel Mountain RALPH grocery store located at 11875 Carmel Mountain Rd, San Diego, CA 92128.

Many RALPH customers had already donated for Houston at their churches. However, they donated again for children of Houston.

One RALPH customer donated $60 in cash. Among the $512,73 donations that the students collected, there were 67 $1 bills and 21 $5 bills.

Nathan Yang, a seventh grader who studies at the Carmel Valley Middle School and who lost his father when he was young, worked five hours today in front of the Ralph grocery store.

The San Diego students solicited donations from RALHP customers, out of their love for the children of Houston who lost their homes from Hurricane Garvey and the floods that followed.
