Columbus Branch Went Pear Picking for Seniors On September 3rd, 2017

On September 3rd, nine members of the Columbus Branch went pear picking at a local farm as a gift for the Senior Star Retirement Center. As Autumn is approaching and the weather gets chillier, we thought it’d we a good time to gift the Seniors as a thank you for the past season and in anticipation for another season to perform and grow closer together. For convenience, there were two times at which students went pear picking. Eileen and Aidan went to the 10 AM picking, while Amy, Gary, Michelle Z., Claire, Erica, Kevin W., and Alice, went to the 1 PM picking. Each student spent around 1 and a half hours picking pears for the Retirement Center, wanting to give some to each Senior. We intend to give the pears to them tomorrow, on Labor Day, to also commemorate the achievements of American workers who have contributed to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. We hope to continue such activities in the future to further deepen our relationships and to bring joy to the Seniors.
