San Diego Branch Delivered 1002 Pairs of Used Eyeglasses and Rice for 100 Families to a Mexico Church on November 25, 2016

It is the Black Friday in the US. It is also the Black Friday to help needed families in Mexico so they can also feel the joy of the holidays.

The San Diego Branch of AYLUS delivered 1002 pairs of used eyeglasses they collected to the Saint Ignacio of Loyola Catholic Church (Parroquia San Ignacio De Loyola) in Mexico. They also donated  a box of medicine, a box of combs, mouthwash, toothbrushes, and toothpaste, and rice for 100 families. The bishop of the church thanked them for the eyeglasses, medicine, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and the rice they donated.

The San Diego Branch also worked with an EyeGlasses shop close to the church to make corrections to eyeglasses so they can fit to patients as a free service.

Since the Nation Wide Vision Drive started, the San Diego Branch has collected and donated 1783 pairs of eyeglasses for needed families in Mexico. The branch also donated rice for 300 families in Mexico since the Nation Wide Gift Drive started.

The San Diego AYLUS students drove to Mexico at 10:30AM and returned home safely at 6:30PM. They were so thankful that the eyeglasses they collected and donated, and the medicine, tooth brushes, tooth paste, and the rice they donated will help needed families in Mexico during the holiday season.
