During the first week in November, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their sciences Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide guidance on the sciences to interested students.
They taught over Zoom or Facetime, helping students learn scientific topics. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students understand the subjects of their teachings. Their sciences challenge camp activities included:
Luke Qiao taught his students Tristan Shi, Gregory Ellinghaus, Angela Xue, and Junpeng Zhao Java coding for an hour and a half on Saturday, 11/7.
Hausen Wu taught his students William Cheng, Bryan Chen and Brian Yang Python coding on Saturday, 11/7, for one and a half hours
Harry Li taught his students Miranda Xue and Alex Cheng Chess on Saturday, 11/7, for one and a half hours.
Ritvik Irigireddy taught his students Eric Cheng, Simon Liu, Angela Xue, Joanne Liu, Annie Jin and Tony Yi AMC 8 Math on Sunday, 11/8, for one and a half hours.
In total, there were 19 participants in this event, with 4 volunteers.
The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 38th online Sciences Challenge Camp activity on the first week of November, 2020.
