AYLUS Great Neck Branch volunteers for Accessible Art Program (26th) 10/19/2026

On October 19th, volunteers from AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in an Accessible Art volunteer activity at Great Neck House from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. (26th)

During the activity, we used acrylic paint to create a painting of the ocean, sunset, and sky. We used different colors to paint the orange sunset, the pink sky, and the blue ocean. We also added white and light blue brushstrokes to make the waves look more realistic. As we continued painting, we gradually added more details to the picture and made the colors blend together.

During the painting process, we learned how to use different brushstrokes to create the effects of waves and the sunset. I also learned that mixing colors and adding small details could make a painting look more complete. Sometimes, it took several brushstrokes to get the effect I wanted, so I needed to be patient and make adjustments. Through this activity, I had the opportunity to practice my painting skills and express my creativity through art. I enjoyed the process of creating the painting and seeing the ocean, sunset, and sky come together in one picture.
