On October 11th, 2026, the AYLUS Roslyn Branch hosted an arts and crafts activity from 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM, where volunteers created handmade items to donate to nursing homes, hospitals and children in need.
During our arts and crafts session, our volunteers worked on creating KFIP bags and crocheted items. Since August, we have had crocheting workshops where members have been taught how to make different items. One of our volunteers crocheted bags that would later be donated to nursing homes and hospitals. KFIP is the Kids Food Independence Program that was created at NOSH Delivers. The program provides meal bags for children when school isn’t running in a brown paper bag. Today, brown paper bags were decorated with markers and had colorful designs and shapes. Our session was not as large as usual, but we are still very proud of the work we have done. The volunteers have enjoyed this calm volunteering session and how much our crafts we have created and will donate have impacted the community. We will definitely be back and we hope to make more next time!
