On July 25th, AYLUS Oyster Bay branch volunteers participated at the Sangha Education Center in Jericho, New York. Our group volunteered at the Meadow Farm of the education center, where we helped planting and taking care of the garden.
During the activity, we dug holes, planted flowers and herbs, moved soil and mulch, and helped organize the garden beds. It was a hot summer day, so the work was a little tiring, but everyone worked together and helped each other.
We especially enjoyed planting flowers and plants. It was exciting to see the garden become more beautiful because of our work. I also learned that gardening requires patience, teamwork, and responsibility. Even small jobs can make a difference when everyone works together.
This volunteer experience was meaningful to me because we helped create a better environment for the community. I also enjoyed spending time outdoors and learning more about plants and nature.
Through volunteering with AYLUS Oyster Bay, we learned that helping the community can be simple but meaningful. I felt happy and proud that I could contribute my time and effort to make the garden a more beautiful place for everyone to enjoy.
