On Thursday, August 13, 2026, our volunteers joined many other organizations to support the annual employee wellness fair hosted by the City of Pearland. The fair was held at the Pearland Recreation Center.
At the event, our youth volunteers introduced our mission and various programs our organization runs, including classes offers to the Pearland community students, volunteer support for many of the City of Pearland sponsored events, and programs designed for special needs students. Our volunteers also distributed program brochures to the fair attendees. Throughout the event, many (over 60) attendees stopped by our booth. They showed both interests and appreciation to what our organization and volunteers have to offer. Several people also inquired specifically about the special needs programs such as SMILE Pearland, My PlayClub, etc.
This event provided an opportunity for our volunteers to connect with families, community partners, and other non-profit organizations in the Pearland area that may benefit from the programs that we run. Mostly importantly, youth volunteers were able to demonstrate their roles in creating a more inclusive community.
