AYLUS Syosset Volunteered at CCE Nassau Farmer’s Market 8/8/26

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, volunteers from Syosset Aylus continued to help out at the weekly CCE Nassua Farmer’s Market at Eisenhower Park Field 8. Volunteers in the first shift arrive as early as 7:30 a.m. to set up the tents and chairs, put out banners, and help with vendors before the market publicly opens at 9 a.m. which is when the second shift of volunteers arrive. All day long, volunteers are seen handing out punch cards, actively answering community members’ questions, working with kids at the activity table, and offering to help carry other people’s bags. As the afternoon continues, the third and last shift of volunteers arrive and help with the market as it starts to wind down and close at 1:00 p.m. These volunteers assist by helping the vendors and packing up the tents and chairs by 2:00 p.m.

Throughout the day, our volunteers did an amazing job continuously working throughout the entire market. At the front tent, a few volunteers facilitated punch cards, answering any questions that community members had, and helped direct interested vendors towards our coordinator Jen. Volunteers at the activity table also did a great job in attracting both kids and adults to color, play with hula hoops, and join in on tag of war. To sum up, our floating volunteers helped by walking around the field and carrying groceries and plants for other attendees.
