McLean Branch BrightView Senior Center Visit 08/09/2026

The McLean AYLUS Branch collaborated with Pieces of Illumination (POI) and volunteered at POI’s volunteering activity at a BrightView Senior Center. This activity took place on 08/09/2026, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

Visiting senior centers and spending time with older adults is a meaningful way to strengthen connections within the community. Through activities such as playing trivia, making flower arrangements, talking, and sharing stories, volunteers can provide companionship and create opportunities for seniors to feel heard, valued, and included. These interactions are important because social connection can bring joy and reduce feelings of isolation, while also allowing younger generations to learn from the experiences and perspectives of older adults. Beyond the activities themselves, these visits help build mutual understanding between generations and remind us that a strong community is one where people of all ages have opportunities to connect, participate, and support one another.
