On August 1, 2026, the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with the United Methodist Church to organize a food donation drive to support local families and community members in need. AYLUS members worked together to collect essential food items, including canned food and rice, from generous donors in the local community. Through the efforts of our members and supporters, the branch collected over 30 pounds of food. These donations will help provide nutritious and essential food supplies to individuals and families who may be experiencing food insecurity or financial difficulties.
At 2:00 p.m. on August 1, AYLUS Morris Branch members delivered the collected donations to the United Methodist Church. The food was given to the church’s food distribution program, where volunteers will organize and distribute the donated items to community members who need assistance. By partnering with the church, AYLUS members were able to contribute directly to an ongoing community support effort and help ensure that donated food reaches those who need it most.
This food donation drive provided AYLUS members with a meaningful opportunity to serve the community and make a positive difference. It also demonstrated the importance of collaboration between youth volunteers and local organizations. Through this partnership, AYLUS Morris Branch members learned that even a small contribution can have a meaningful impact when people work together toward a common goal. The branch is proud to support the United Methodist Church and looks forward to continuing to participate in future service projects that address food insecurity and other important community needs. The event also encouraged members to become more aware of the needs of their neighbors and inspired them to continue volunteering and giving back to the community.
