Youth Summer Program Volunteer

On Tuesday July 28th, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM, the Twin Falls branch volunteered with Culture For Change Foundation’s Youth Summer Program.

We started off by playing card games with the children, such as UNO, while we waited for everyone to arrive and get settled. After that, we helped set up different stations for the children to rotate through. We operated the soap-making station, where we guided the children step-by-step through the process of making their own scented soap. We explained how much water to fill the container with, helped them add a few drops of their chosen essential oil, and then assisted them with filling the rest of the container with soap. We worked with several different groups of children throughout the activity and enjoyed talking with them while they made their soaps. It was fun seeing how excited the children were to choose their scents and create something of their own. We also made sure the station stayed organized and clean by wiping up any spills, cleaning up messes, and preparing the materials for the next group. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding experience because we were able to interact with the children, help them learn something new, and make sure they had an enjoyable time at the activity.

Members who participated include Venya Sunkesula – 2 hours, Hadlie Human – 2 hours.
