On July 19, 2026, the AYLUS Great Neck Branch returned to Kings Point Park to continue maintaining and improving the walking trails, welcoming one new member to the team. Working together, the volunteers cleared overgrown sections of the trails while enduring the summer heat and persistent mosquitoes. Their dedication helped make even more of the park’s pathways safe and enjoyable for visitors.
The primary focus remained on leveling mulch and removing large, obstructive wood chips from the trails. And covering over the tire tracks. These efforts help ensure that both park maintenance vehicles and local nature enthusiasts can travel through the woods safely and comfortably. The project also provided a great opportunity for members to work alongside the branch’s newest volunteer, strengthen friendships, and enjoy the natural surroundings. Through this hands-on service, the Great Neck Branch proudly continues to uphold the core AYLUS mission of community service, convenience, and care.
