On Thursday, July 9, 2026, members of the South Orange-Maplewood Branch volunteered with the Maplewood, New Jersey Health Department, helping with check-in for food distribution.
Their initiative helped many residents gain access to food that would otherwise be difficult to aquire. The department distributed pre-packages bags of food, containing dry and canned goods as well as perishable items. These included frozen fruits, vegetables, pre-packaged meals, eggs, milk, butter, cheese, yogurt, bread, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal, cereal, rice, pasta, sauce, soup, and canned goods.
