On Friday, May 22nd, the AYLUS Houston branch volunteered at Houston food bank in order to fight food insecurity in the greater Houston area. Over three hours, members worked at the carousel, sorting food into different categories, like food, cleaning, and drinks. With the efforts made by all volunteers, members allowed there to be a more efficient sorting, making it easier to create boxes to be sent out to the families in need around Houston.
We are extremely grateful for the volunteers that took their time to contribute to a world with less food insecurity, with each member exemplifying teamwork, collaboration, and productivity within the Houston food bank.
We thank the Houston Food bank for the opportunity to give the efforts back to the community, allowing for families without food to have the opportunity to get boxes. This dedication showcases the volunteer’s goal to create a world without food insecurity, sorting one box at a time. We look forward to the next time we can give our efforts into helping the Houston Food Bank.
