On May 20, 2026, members of the AYLUS Lake Washington Branch partnered with the City of Sammamish to support a restoration event at Sammamish Lower Commons Park. During the two‑hour event, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, volunteers removed invasive blackberry plants. Through hands‑on work and collaboration with community members, participants learned how to safely handle restoration tools and how to distinguish blackberry bushes from thimbleberry and other native species.
