On Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, AYLUS’s Lake Washington Branch members volunteered at the annual Sammamish Kids Mud Run event located at the East Sammamish Park.
On day 2, members Elissa Song, Constantine Ermolenko, Kevin Chen, and Tristan Edwar volunteered from 8:45 AM to 12:00 PM, for a total of 3 hours and 15 minutes per volunteer. Our members carried out a variety of important tasks, such as watching for safety during the actual Kids Mud Run event and helping with last-minute events. We also helped direct runners around the course and made sure they followed proper event protocol. Our members collectively agree that this event proved to be enlightening in the way that they gained valuable communication and socialization skills whilst helping the community.
