On Saturday, February 8th, from 2:00PM to 3:30PM, the Aylus Great Neck Branch held an AAPI reading event at the Parkville Library. Tiffany first read the book “Let’s Celebrate Korean New Year!” followed by Irena reading “A Piece of Home” to all of the children who attended. Afterwards, the volunteers brought the children along in a wide variety of activities: Crochet, origami, and decorating plates with stickers to create animals. Tiffany and Adele helped teach many people how to crochet. A wide variety ranged from crocheting basic chains to elaborate designs. Irena and Andrew helped make origami with the children. The rest of the volunteers helped with other activities that were provided as well. Overall, the volunteers were able to provide a fun and informative event for the children. Everyone had fun and we thank everyone who joined us for this event.
