On February 8th, 2025, AYLUS members collaborated with organizations at the Jewish Community Center to help prepare for the Lunar New Year Festival. Members were positioned to help distribute food while exchanging tickets, helping as stage crew, preparing rooms for organizations, and working at the front desk to check in visitors. Prior to the starting speech, we helped move in food and prepare chairs for the audience, then we moved corresponding food and water to rooms where performers were practicing or relaxing. As visitors began to come in, we exchanged tickets and handed them corresponding meals with water to provide with.
As the show began, we first had lion dancers come in with drummers and cymbal players. Each performance that passed by involved performances from multiple groups, like the RHS ACE Club, the Musik Colab group, the Joy Arts Center, and the Roslyn Middle School even took part in this event. During the live show, we took off props and quickly got the stage ready for each performance that passed by. We moved props like microphones, music stands, and pedestals on and off the stage. It was great being able to aid in the purpose of inviting people from outside of the Lunar New Year traditions to help them experience it themselves for a first. People of many origins came to watch the show, and they were all immersed within the performances.
