AYLUS Great Neck Branch Volunteers Participate in Costume Parade and Candy Hunt at Village Green Park(10/25/26)

On October 25, 2026, the AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in a Halloween event at Village Green Park from 9:30 to 11:30.

The volunteers arrived prior to the guests and began preparing for the event; some were scattering candy around the rose garden while others were making candy bags for distribution. As guests and children began entering, they began enjoying the candy hunt. Many children were running around the park searching for candy while the volunteers helped guide and take photos for parents. At the same time, many families were also lining up for cotton candy and face painting which was provided by the organizers. At 10:30, the staff started the parade, instructing everyone to get in a line and walk all throughout the park. Parents enjoyed looking at the rose garden while the children were very interested in the Halloween decorations. After the parade concluded, volunteers began handing out candy bags to children and quickly made more to ensure every kid was able to get one. After that, volunteers continued to help take photos and offer assistance to guests who wished for it. When the event ended, the volunteers stayed behind to help the staff take down and clean up decorations before finally leaving.

By participating in this event, many volunteers were able to talk to families in the community and collaborate with other volunteers to ensure a good experience. We had fun helping and getting everyone into the Halloween spirit.
