On October 5th, our team successfully organized a volunteer activity at Connetquot River State Park as part of its centennial celebration, helping enhance visitors’ weekend experiences. We arrived at the destination at 9:50 a.m. and promptly began our tasks.
The team was divided into two groups. The first group, led by JingXuan Liu and LuKang He, managed a market stall offering a woodblock printing activity. They used two carved woodblocks depicting different types of fish. Visitors applied pigment to the woodblocks and pressed paper onto them, creating beautiful fish prints as unique souvenirs. The second group distributed cupcakes to visitors exploring the park.
After lunch, we conducted an environmental survey around the lake, picking up any litter we found. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery, fresh air, and clear blue sky. We even spotted locals horseback riding and witnessed ducks floating on the water, capturing fish—evidence of the park’s diverse aquatic life. The park also features a museum showcasing small animals, where we learned about birds, turtles, and snakes. We took photos of the peaceful, picturesque surroundings and shared them on social media.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who supported and contributed to the success of this event. Your help made it possible for us to promote environmental protection and enhance the centennial celebration.
