AYLUS Syosset Members help at Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center 8/3/24

On August 3, 2024, members of AYLUS Syosset dedicated their time to volunteering at the Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary. They participated in various meaningful activities, including shoveling and spreading mulch across the soil. Spreading mulch is a very vital task as it controls weeds, the mulch suppresses sunlight which makes it harder for weeds to germinate and spread. Additionally, mulch aids in regulating soil temperature and retaining moisture, contributing to a healthier and more balanced environment. It also serves as a protective layer that prevents soil erosion from rain.

Members who participated (everyone 2hs): Jonathan Bao, Rita Bao, Kyle Bao, Justin lin, Riley Lin, Ryan Lin, Geyan Lou, wangyang ji, ethan lee, madison lee, and Michelle Huang
