Murrieta AYLUS Helps STAT Horse Sanctuary (26th) (9/14/2024)

Reported by Adora Xiao :

On September 14th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped at the STAT Horse Sanctuary.
The volunteers arrived early in the morning to attend to the horse pens. After collecting the tools necessary, they worked on shoveling the waste and old hay and dumping it into wheelbarrows. Starting in the upper stables before working their way down, they took a break to visit a pig who’d recently given birth to young piglets. They also said hello to a few chickens and stray cats that’d wandered in, and visited the pond with a couple geese. After cleaning the stables, the volunteers raked and disposed of old hay around the tables and tool shed. Following that, the volunteers tracked down the cats again and said goodbye.
