Murrieta AYLUS Helps Local Food Bank (63rd) (8/9/2024)

Reported by Jessica Lu :

On August 9th, 2024, Murrieta AYLUS members helped their local food bank.
Members signed in before going over to sort produce. There were boxes of oranges waiting and members patiently went through the bad and good oranges, throwing the bad ones into the farm box for the pigs. After finishing, members were given boxes of eggs and given instructions to put 6 eggs in each box. Since each box had 12 spaces, members cut the boxes in half so that they wouldn’t waste any boxes. They had to be careful with the eggs since some of them were already broken and some were close to cracking. Then, members taped up the boxes so that the eggs wouldn’t fall out. After the morning meeting, members spent the rest of the time making food boxes and organizing. Then, they cleaned up the tables at the end.
