On July 4th, AYLUS was apart of the July 4th parade as balloon handlers. Volunteers arrived at 9:45 AM and they practiced walking around with the balloons in two different ways until the parade started. The two ways that the volunteers practiced were they had to walk side-by-side or in a line down the street. As the parade starts, the volunteers started walking down the street passing hundreds of parade-goers. The volunteers had to make sure they were not too close or too far away from the parade. After finishing the parade, volunteers walked backed back to where they started. The parade was energetic and fun. We hope to be back in the future.
