On May 24th, 2024, the last day of the school year, the Pearland branch hosted a community year-end party at Tom Bass Regional Park. Volunteers began preparing food and games the day before the event. On the day of the party, they arrived at the park early to organize the rented pavilions and set up games such as volleyball, spike ball, and axe throwing. AYLUS members and community kids started arriving in the evening. Attendees enjoyed a variety of delicious foods, learned more about AYLUS and it’s summer programs, and actively participated in the games, culminating in a watermelon eating contest that brought great joy to everyone involved.
