On 4/19/24, West Essex members volunteered at the Livingston music festival for special needs families sponsored by LACD and MCF.
Dozens of children with special needs attended the event. the event featured a variety DIY musical instruments, including mini guitars made of ice pop sticks and rubber bands, egg shakers filled with mung beans, pan flutes made from straws, etc. many had their faces and hands painted with colorful characters and music notes. hey also had the opportunity to pick from a large selection of snacks, including cookies, chips, chocolate muffins, palmier and madeleines. Music performances including two rhythmic gymnastics performances with ribbon and ball by our member Summer Li and Emily Cai. Our members from Livingston High School performed Do Re Mi , Somewhere Over the Rainbow and a medley from Disney’s Frozen.
