On 4/10/2024, Aylus Great Neck continued to host its tutoring sessions for students at the Great Neck Library Station Branch. Our volunteers arrived at the library at around 4:30PM.
Our first student wanted to continue practicing math questions in English to prepare for an upcoming test. To help her, our first volunteer Ruiqi Liu answered any questions she had about any of the words in the questions and gave her feedback on her responses.
Our second student had some Math and English homework to finish. Our volunteer Taisheng Wu helped her with finishing that homework.
Our final student needed to go over her English homework on April Fool’s Day with one of our tutors. Siying Chen helped go over her classwork and make sure it was all correct.
Additionally, Lauren Chen played a few games of Uno with two of our students. They had a lot of fun learning and then playing the game.
After about an hour, we said our goodbyes and left.

AYLUS Great Neck Branch Hosted a Tutoring Event at Station Library on 04/12/2024.
Another fulfilling and unforgettable Friday afternoon, volunteers provided one-on-one homework assistance and English tutoring for the children in our community.
Today’s volunteers are Athena Liu , an 8th grader from the Great Neck North Middle School, and Taisheng Wu, a 9th grader of the Great Neck South High School.
They were busy with their own studies and activities before coming to the event, but they eagerly rushed to the library, using their knowledge and abilities to help the younger children.
A fifth-grade child needed help with math, science, and English homework, while another second-grade child, who had recently moved to the United States, needed special English tutoring. The volunteers patiently explained the questions to the children and guided them through reading English books.
An hour quickly passed, but for the volunteers, the sense of achievement and satisfaction by helping others, and for the younger children, the example set by the older kids, will have a significant impact on their lives in the future.

Taisheng Wu: 1 hour
