On December 3rd 2023, West Essex AYLUS members volunteered for Saturday in Motion at Somerset Hills YMCA . Saturdays in Motion (SIM) is a recreational program for children with autism. Autistic children and their families join together at Somerset Hills YMCA on Saturdays for two hours of recreation. Volunteers first meet up for preparation including setting up equipment in the gym. Then volunteers carefully guide assigned children through an hour of gym time and a second hour in the pool.
This week volunteers put together a holiday party for the participating kids. West Essex members organized string players and brought our inclusive choir to perform holiday songs.
